... for the first time in nearly three years!

My friend's horse is apparently very sensible but chestnut mare is a bit of a Dr Jekyll and Madam Hyde in company. :o

She'll either channel a beach donkey and pootle about at a snails pace with me reduced to being a passenger, or be a ranging loon with the accelerator stuck on and I'll be riding my socks off to keep her under control. Which will it be?

Ahhh, she'll probably throw both at me for old times sake.

Thank you. :)

I've cunningly selected a very steep route in the vague hope that going up lots of hills at the start of the ride will wear her out a bit. :p

Good luck, I love riding out in company but also ride a mare that sometimes decides there is only one gear! Really hope you have a lovely ride. Let us know how you get on!

Good luck! I'm doing the same on Sunday too. Other than a walk out in hand I have found out that my 'perfect bombproof kids pony' hasn't been hacked out in 4 years. Good job it can carry me as the test dummy!

Bricking it!

I'm back! :D All in one piece too. ;)

She was quite frisky as I set off to meet my friend as the farmer was moving some sheep but as soon as we met up... she turned into a plod! She didn't even look at the pile of fly tipped tyres in the hedgerow that we passed later in the ride and not even a blink at the alpacas, which is very unusual. She's a funny lass. :) :p

Brilliant! I am alive too. Did the whole 7 miles in just walk / jog but am very pleased with her. Little less pleased with 2 others who were constantly clicking their tounge to make their horses move faster because mine was listening to it & also the 14 yr old who was absent mindedly waving a schooling whip around ffs! But we did it. Turns out this could have been her first ever hack too. X
