Spent all morning raking tracks in our snowy arena, finally taking The Mad One in there for a "schooling" session - she's had 2 weeks off and I usually make sure she's ridden at least 6 times a week as she's got so much energy! She's been going everywhere on 2 legs breathing fire for the past week so I can't wait to see what she has in store for me - Will administer instant calmer, superglue to saddle, sticky bum breeches and hope for the best :D :o Anyone else braving it today?! x

ooo good luck! i will not be braving it today as after 2 weeks out of work riding bareback isnt something that would go down well with the Rio beast... he was only a fire breathing dragon after turnout though the rest of the time hes been pretty boring :o let us know how you get on!

Like you OP I usually ride my boy 6 times a week. I took him to a jumping clinic after a week of not riding due to snow and ice. He was a star, only a little bit fresh. I was so pleased and now I know not to worry if he isn't being ridden much due to adverse weather.
Good luck with your schooling

Yep, I braved it today after 2 weeks iced in. Went out for a hack too!! Apart from a big arabian trot up the hill (better than standing on hind legs!) and a few big shies and eyes out on stalks at horse eating snow monsters, she was very well behaved. Think she was as glad as me to be back out, she has hated the snow this week so has been in a lot. I have the week off work now, but looks like the weather is going to be heavy rain and high winds so I may not be riding as much as I would like!!
