We used to keep a dairy herd a few years back. We had a cow collapse and die in the milking parlour. Luckily we had a good huntsman who came out on a Sunday night and removed her.

Must've been a good few years back. You can't do anything like that any more. Showing your age?
I can't reach them in cubicles! We normally do them in AI pens but always leave them where they are unless the farmer/herdsman asks otherwise. I would certainly go to your neighbour straight after you though, unless his cows are never ready by then
It was a while ago Patches - that huntsman moved onto the Beaufort. My husband and brother in law used to do AI themselves to stop the cows hanging around waiting for the AI person.
AI ours in the parlour (an abreast). Had 17 tb reactors last week
we bought in some beef claves last Jan which came from a herd which then tested +. At work (with goats) we are having a problem with listeriosis, about 12 so far this week!
