Today I managed to construct a track system for my older ponies who are possibly going to have expanding waistlines in the coming months, hoping this may help a bit. I have water up the top end and can then extend the area at the bottom to give a bit more grass and hopefully get them to walk a bit more. Have wanted to for a while but always not managed to find the time.

Just thought I'd share a small positive to having more time at home. Next task will be to clean the car after a winter of abuse from mud.

Please share your own accomplishments

I have cleared and emptied 2 kitchen cupboards of kids plastic crockery/cutlery and biscuit cutters in every shape for every season..no longer needed. ...and changed my bed linen ..and spent time with daughter whom we rescued from uni at the weekend..she was showing me her Minecraft world created years ago with her cousin...it was a lovely blast from the past and time out I haven’t had for years.

Brought the new mare in for a bit of attention and she was excellent, led her up the drive for a different view and she was still excellent. Fitted Tinner’s bridle onto her without sobbing uncontrollably into her mane.

Planted on sweet peas and nasturtiums, including into my old sailing shoes which have finally been retired, I think they were about 20 years old.

I tidied up the jump storage area and picked up loads of worms for my chickens! The weather was beautiful and I was on my own at the yard waiting for hay to soak, and I thought I'd do something useful. Halfway through and wishing I'd never started!

Worked in the garden until lunch time. Picked up some bits of shopping and delivered them to my parents. Washed my car. Repaired a few bits on my car. Cooked a meal. Cleaned downstairs. Did 5 loads of washing and drying.

You know, you can eat dandelion leaves as salad. Over here, they are even sold in greengrocer's shops...
Lots of common hedgerow greens are quite tasty actually; I made wild nettle and chive soup today. :) (my soup was pretty good, just an awful colour lol!)

Today I cleaned 2/3 aquariums, added new plants, made the aforementioned soup, did a bit on my english coursework, planted half a dozen dog rose and apple seeds, and made some chinchilla toys along with a few treats for the rabbits. Nothing out of routine horsey was done though - just a new poultice on the idiot thoroughbred and spotty pon cuddles.

We’re all living in such odd realities now. I have a desk job and am right in the middle of how we’re responding as a business to the virus so I’m flat out working. No Netflix binge watching or spending time cleaning the house for me. Might come if this goes on for longer and everything is shut down, but I doubt it!

Bernster I was just thinking about the weird parallel realities we live in. My sister is a nurse and is flat out, terrified about what might be coming and overwhelmed. I'm working from home and a lot of work has stopped so have plenty of extra spare time. I'm not quite at the rearranging knicker drawer stage but life is much slower and calmer now for me.

I have 5 horses in on a crew yard so that's keeping me busy along with children for whom home ed looks like building dens in the hay barn, discovering hidden chicken nests (15 eggs yesterday), hoping to start some pony groundwork today, when turnout becomes possible they're going to need slimmer waistlines. My mare has come out of winter looking like it's been a stonking summer!

Not only do I have to stay at home but also the neighbours builder pulled out our phone/internet cable - that was yesterday. Luckily we managed to get a temporary fix by this afternoon.
More than 24 hrs without HHO and not being able to go out means the house is looking pretty good.
I also made pasta and macaroons.
