how much turnout is your horse having at the moment? More, less or the same as usual for this time of year?

Mine are out 24/7 still, but TBTH if I had my stables built the 2 ridden horses would only be getting a few hours a day aswell as being ridden.

He would be out 24/7 but as it is he is in for half the day, just to eat, as they arent getting hay in the field yet.

When the hay gets put in the field this week he will be out 24/7.

None, nil, zilch, nada - my field resembles a swimming pool

Horses are getting limited turnout.
Ive left them in since last wednesday.
They have access to walker and are ridden but the big horse would rather go out.
So ive turned them out today till lunchtime. They are much happier if they can have just 2-3 hours a day.
Its due to be cold and frosty from tomorrow so hopefully they can be turned out a few more days this week

Ours are in from 4pm until 7.30 a.m. but we are about to finish fencing 6 extra acres and there is grass in there. They won't be able to believe their eyes. However, they were all out 24/7 until only about a week ago when the night weather got bad as we don't have field shelters. I must say, the mucking out in the morning before going to work is a shock to the system again! Roll on more light and longer days, I expect we will survive again.

Generally the horses go out every day - mine and his mate at around 7.00am ish. Apart from yesterday (Sunday) that is. The weather here was dire, so they stayed in.

Our fields are very well drained, so no real problem as far as that goes.

24/7. I'm so glad I have my own land so can choose to do this! Mine would never cope with having to stay stabled due to restricted turnout .

Only the old shetland is brought in at night into the BEST stable (spoilt brat!) because she can't have grass, and goes out onto the hardcore yard during the day. All others are out.

limited at the moment - those that really need it stay out for longer, those that stand by the gate looking miserable tend to have a play in the indoor school instead. I make sure I ride daily so he gets his leg stretch.

Mine have at least four hours a day. I am lucky having my own land but then i dont have a school. Think id rather opt for the land though cos then there are no rules about when they go out and how long for! Mine would be lethal if they had to stay in all the time.

Mine haven't been out for the past two weeks!! Fields are still awful, my retired boy is ready to climb out of his stable and my baby girl couldn't care less as long as she has a big haynet in front of her..needkess to say i walk.ride them out every day..

I only have a sand paddock to turn out in, one of my TB's box walks for England if he doesnt go out, but they went out yesterday for the first time since Tuesday! They had a quick spin on Thursday while I did their beds and wasnt raining but apart from that they have stayed in. Even the box walker seemed to be quite content with this, he has been hacked out this morning and now all 3 of them are out in the paddock in the sunshine. I prefer them to be out but I doubt they like it much when it is peeing down and the ground is sloshy.

Out in her normal routine, 8am to 6pm. She doesn't mind the rain and she does far less damage to her field if she goes out every day than if she misses a day. One day being stabled without turnout and she'll buck and charge the next morning and tear the field up.

Jimmy has only been having half days because he hates getting wet! Sunday morning we only left them out for an hour and a half - he looked so pleased to be coming back in!!!

Im v lucky mines manged to stay out during the day and is now in at night. The fields starting to get quite muddy now though so im having to moniter her really carefully for the dreaded mud fever.

I exercise both of mine and then turn them out at 8 a.m and bring them in when I get home from work at about 6.30/7 p.m. However, because of the weather recently I've kept them in for some day's. i.e yesterday!! I would have kept them both in on Saturday had I not decided it was a good idea to go hunting. Never again will I be so stupid. Or at least if I am I will wear a mac not just my hunting coat!!

Mine is out from about 7-4 everday, apart from saturday as we had snow and gale force winds! Im lucky that there are only two of them on a ten acre field so even though its water-logged its not muddy at all.

Our six are out 24/7 on 4.5 acres and we just have a few small muddy patches and plenty of grass. certainly no need to feed hay or haylage either.
