I have withdrawn from Aston le Walls PN by the withdrawal date which was yesterday yet dont get a refund as needed to be done by ballot date.

Which is totally fine but WHAT is the point bl**dy point in a withdrawal date!!! I might as well have withdrawn today tomorrow or the day b4!!!!

Rant over

It's supposed to be so that they can change the info that goes into the programme/on scoreboards and the start times I think.
You can withdraw after the withdrawal date obviously but that messe up the timings so you get gaps if you cant fill the place from waitlist.

So you are helping them out by withdrawing b4 that date but dont your refund for doing this seems a bit silly.

Gives you no incentive to withdraw b4 withdrawal date surely

Yes and they only give out prize money on starters .So if events do nothing to improve the ground and lots pull out they gain money because they keep entry fee.Why do we accept this!
I did berrington last year and came 5th but no prize because it was hard ground and lots withdrew.Difference between 1st and 5th ,3marks I seem to remember

For some reason BE seems to have left a sour taste in my mouth this weekend for alot of different reasons, hopefully things will now pick up

I agree with you HJ. I have real issue with organisors keeping all of entry fee, even when you comply with their dates etc. If they balloted isn't it likely that they will fill your place? Will you get any form of refund if they do...? It's not like BE comps are cheap.

Your right they did ballot and I withdrew 2 so they will prob loose my place so I lose roughly 110 pouns and they gain 220 ish! Nice!!

I also think it's a little bit greedy, and I don't think ODEs ought to be allowed not to run a waitlist. When I withdrew from Little Downham at the end of last year I think it was about 2 weeks before and they said not to worry about a vet cert, I'd get the refund. However when I withdrew D from Bramham a week before with a vet cert I got nothing of the £500 or so I'd already paid them for entry and compulsory stabling

Well Mac has gone back to be sold so he was withdrawn and cant take Connor as he has only just last week started his vaccination course. And Spider needs a couple of Intro runs b4 another PN really.

So annoying to not get a penny back

Oh thats a shame about Mac but the new one looks lovely, not too disimilar to one of mine!!!
Its a right pain about not getting money back cos eventing is so expensive- my last season i had to withdraw from loads because my horsey suffered a career ending injury and lost loads in entry fees and dont mention the vets bills!
Good Luck with Spider and hope Conner turns out to be as special as her!!!!
