Vet has whole yard on lockdown, so have to withdraw. Organisers have been great and said they will fully refund my friend and I for being responsible and withdrawing.

You are bloody lucky, I withdrew and got an e-mail back saying 'noted, thanks' - that was it

But thems the rules.....

you are lucky, I had to withdraw for lame horse reasons ( with vet attending ) from two events recently, no refund from either!

Well done to stafford though for supporting you , you must be gutted you have to withdraw!

What has happened?

Sorry to hear that and as they have said, well done. However, I was promised a full refund from them that never materialised

1 horse on the yard has a suspect condition. It is unlikely (we were told by vet tonight) to be what we thought at 1st it was, but he does not want out horses leaving the yard or mixing with other horses until the results are back from a 2nd blood test next week.

I am annoyed, but not very as he is jumping cr@p at the moment (stops at about 1 in 3 for no reason). Probably saved me a £100 (inc. diesel) disappointing elimination in SJ.

Are you at Eland? If so I was at a friends yard on sunday night who got a message re. what it was thought as, as she had had a girl from there have a lesson at hers. Pleased it looks like its not

Yes I am. Word gets around quickly, but we acted responsibly.

TBH i don't think it is very responsible that Eland Lodge are still running shows ... We have been tonight, didn't realise and certainly wouldn't have gone if we had as we have got broodmares in foal

Liveries cannot compete until we get the all clear, so you won't be anywhere near us. I was schooling in the dressage field tonight.

Rubbish. Most of these viruses or infections arent airborne anyway
smirk.gif
The only way they could possibly be passed on is by direct contact

Obviously Eland have got their facts straight before hand!!

Actually the 'suspect condition' that everyone is talking about we have had dealings with in the past and have been told by a vet that it can live in tack and wood ie. fence posts and rails!! for up to six weeks

Yes which is direct contact. Agree, I have also been on a yard with the condition, so am aware of how it is spread. Therefore unless you are in the area where the virus is, (eg the stable block) it is highly unlikely there is any risk to you from competing.
