Its been a while since I mentioned my baby horses and the spotted one so I thought I would do a post, whilst watching hickstead in the background!!

Dottie news is not good. Her "good" leg was a bit warm and a bit thick, its been scanned and the vet think she clouted it with her hind foot. I was pretty traumatised about it as on the scan it looked exactly the same as when she did her other leg. The vet assured me that, despite it looking the same, it was very different to her bad leg. I felt calmer after a week when it went cold again, now I feel stressed about it because its warm again. Im trying not to panic, I'm ice vibing it as much as I can & shes sound and happy, so things could be much worse, will just have to wait and see what this weeks scan says.

Onto the baby pony news. I have just backed Dotties sister, Belle and I just bought another one, that had been sat on in Ireland but nowt else, I have told HHO about her and posted some pictures, but she didn't have a name, she has been called Summer and Ill start with her...

I rode her a few times on the flat and hacked her a couple of times around the farm and she was a good egg about it all, so decided to give her her first little jump. She was a pro about it.

She met the deer and although being pretty scared, soon realised that they were more scared of her!

At home her schooling has been coming along

So I decided that even though she had only been ridden 12 times (as she was just sat on in Ireland) but because she was a sensible sort, that it was time to enter her to go to dressage! So she went yesterday! It was only W&T but as it was only her 14th time ever that that was ok!

Its safe to say that I may of had too much fun on Friday night with my friends to feel a bit awful (loads awful) so the main concern was not to be sick on my cow horse! I managed this....just. There were loads of firsts, first party, first time being ridden in the arena with other horses, first time in an indoor school, white boards, mirrors etc!!

All I can say is that she was blimmin marvellous!! She wasn't phased by anything!! She warmed up sweetly, stood quietly to wait to go in, went into the indoor school happily, didn't bat an eye at the boards, mirrors, gallery etc and did a really sweet test. She got a smidge under 65% and came 3rd, with the winner getting a smidge over 65%. I couldn't of been happier with her!

Here are some pics

Sadly the posh camera didn't like the indoor school (plus we don't really know how to use the posh camera!)

I couldn't be prouder of my cow. Shes mega. 2 of my friends have already been asking when she will be up for sale, as I did buy her to bring on to sell but <whispers> Im not sure I want her too go....................ooops!

TBC (as too many words!)

Onto my homebred baby, Dotties sister Belle who is by Wish Upon a Star. She is a little sharper than Summer so Im taking it slower with her. I really, really like her so I want to try to not make any mistakes.

She has also been to Windsor for her 2nd hack.

Today Belle stepped it up (as she heard that Summer was so amazing yesterday!) so she hacked out from the yard, rather than round the farm, for the first time. Its not overly quiet or nice hacking out of the gate, so to go by herself (no one to ride with), for the first time, to meet cars, cyclists, dog walkers, puddles, little ditches etc and to hack all the way to my friends yard, about 40 mins (including the wobbling!) each way to stop for a chat and then come home again, without drama was a big deal for her. She was mega!

So that's it for mine for a while. There is no real plan is it all depends on what happens with each. Dottie will get scanned (vibes please) Summers long term plan depends on how Dotties scan goes as if its bad news then Summer may stay a bit longer, she will get out hacking more on the roads and get jumping and having a little XC school and go to a little jumping party pretty soon. Belle is going to go to some riding club activities to get out and about with no pressure, then hopefully in the next month or so she might get to go to her first party. I am slightly worried about her diva based behaviour and am wondering if I might of bred a dressage horse rather than an event horse, but we shall see!!

Over and out and back to hickstead!!

Wow! What a nice, quiet and efficient rider you seem to be. Just what these baby horses need. (And LOL at your face in the second "walk over pole" photo with Belle :)).
I am sure they will both follow in Bug's footsteps and become great horses.

Both are gorgeous, but I particularly like Belle. It sounds like you are extremely busy, which is all good, and super pics :)

I was just wondering how Dottie was doing on my hack today bizarrely, fingers crossed for her and the other two look fab :D

All fingers crossed for Dottie - what damn bad luck!
Love your two babies, funny how they are so different. Summer sounds like a real sweetheart and I bet Belle is going to be a real star.!
Fab photos - though they are terrible for making me want matchy!

Lovely....I'm going to go against the grain and say that Summer is my favourite of the babies so far - love that last Windsor pic, so smart.

Haha at Belle and the pole!!! That's so like Fig!!! I love your lot, how proud you are of them really comes across in your posts.

Everything crossed for Dottie.

I think Cow Pony the Second is a superstar in the making...

Norty Dottie ! all the work you've put in bringing her back to, you didn't deserve that set back. Seriously sweet Summer and love Belle.

Seriously jealous of the riding round Windsor, couldn't imagine what J would do if she saw the Deers though 😳 ?

Healing vibes to Dottie and continued success with S & B

Sorry to hear about Dottie, keeping everything crossed for her recovery. Hopefully it's just a blip.

The babies are looking fab. I especially like (actually love) Summer. If you do decide to sell, can I be first in line please?!

Thank you for everyones kind words about them all, they are a good bunch of monkeys. I love them all zillions!

Yeah I am rather busy, its pretty non stop, especially as Im riding some others for other people, its all fun though (and exhausting!)

Thanks for wondering about her, that's sweet. Its scan day tomorrow and Im already feeling sick about it!

All fingers crossed for Dottie - what damn bad luck!

Sorry for making you want more. I was so clashy today, but sadly there was no one there to get a picture of my rainbow matchy!

Lovely....I'm going to go against the grain and say that Summer is my favourite of the babies so far - love that last Windsor pic, so smart.

Im surprised how much I like her too! Its crazy really when you think about how much it cost me to get the babies to a ridden age and then summer swans in for way less and is just as much fun. Its not the same though as I super doper mega heart my babies, so Ill forgive them for costing so much!!!!

Fingers crossed that Dot isn't too bad, but if she is we will sort her....again. My BF just got in from icing her (best BF ever) and he had a pep talk with her and told her she had to be better! Hopefully she will listen to him!!

Summer was pretty traumatised by the deer for the first few minutes, but as soon as they ran away she got mega brave and was trying to trot after them and chase them!!

Please enter this photo in the 'most Hi Viz class' in the HHO photo show. There aren't any rivals yet! :D

Ha, but I forgot my hiviz hatband!! The road outside here is so busy and is a 60mph limit, so hiviz is a huge must

2 of my friends have already asked if they can come see her, 1 asked on the 2nd day I had her! But yeah of course, you can go on the list! Her staying or going depends on how Dottie is really, hopefully Dot will be fine, then I can do a bit more with Summer and then find her a new human. At least if Dot news is not good, then Summer staying can be the silver lining
