Its been a while since I mentioned my baby horses and the spotted one so I thought I would do a post, whilst watching hickstead in the background!!
Dottie news is not good. Her "good" leg was a bit warm and a bit thick, its been scanned and the vet think she clouted it with her hind foot. I was pretty traumatised about it as on the scan it looked exactly the same as when she did her other leg. The vet assured me that, despite it looking the same, it was very different to her bad leg. I felt calmer after a week when it went cold again, now I feel stressed about it because its warm again. Im trying not to panic, I'm ice vibing it as much as I can & shes sound and happy, so things could be much worse, will just have to wait and see what this weeks scan says.
Onto the baby pony news. I have just backed Dotties sister, Belle and I just bought another one, that had been sat on in Ireland but nowt else, I have told HHO about her and posted some pictures, but she didn't have a name, she has been called Summer and Ill start with her...
I rode her a few times on the flat and hacked her a couple of times around the farm and she was a good egg about it all, so decided to give her her first little jump. She was a pro about it.
Her first jump
She went out on the road and was a pro about the whole thing
She also went to Windsor great park for her first trip out in the truck, she was mega about the whole thing!
She met the deer and although being pretty scared, soon realised that they were more scared of her!
She had her 2nd ever jump
At home her schooling has been coming along
So I decided that even though she had only been ridden 12 times (as she was just sat on in Ireland) but because she was a sensible sort, that it was time to enter her to go to dressage! So she went yesterday! It was only W&T but as it was only her 14th time ever that that was ok!
Its safe to say that I may of had too much fun on Friday night with my friends to feel a bit awful (loads awful) so the main concern was not to be sick on my cow horse! I managed this....just. There were loads of firsts, first party, first time being ridden in the arena with other horses, first time in an indoor school, white boards, mirrors etc!!
All I can say is that she was blimmin marvellous!! She wasn't phased by anything!! She warmed up sweetly, stood quietly to wait to go in, went into the indoor school happily, didn't bat an eye at the boards, mirrors, gallery etc and did a really sweet test. She got a smidge under 65% and came 3rd, with the winner getting a smidge over 65%. I couldn't of been happier with her!
Here are some pics
Just chilling out waiting to go in
Sadly the posh camera didn't like the indoor school (plus we don't really know how to use the posh camera!)
Posing at home with her first ever rosette
I couldn't be prouder of my cow. Shes mega. 2 of my friends have already been asking when she will be up for sale, as I did buy her to bring on to sell but <whispers> Im not sure I want her too go....................ooops!
TBC (as too many words!)
