Hi everyone, I'm new to this need some advice
I have the vet coming out on Thursday, but would like to know what everyone else thinks this could possibly be
I bought a horse about two weeks ago and since I've had him whenever I tie him up in the yard or even if someone holds him his back legs wobble and he seems to lose complete control of them and will fall over if you don't get there quickly, was wondering what everyone thought this could be?
have been suggested wobblers could it be this?
Thanks in advance

Hi, I'm also new to this forum and thought I'd give you a little support as your post hasn't received any input from others.

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing problems with your horse. I'm certainly not a vet, but have unfortunately experienced a few cases of wobblers when I used to work in the equine industry. From what you describe I think it's very likely that your horse has wobblers or some other neurological condition.

You don't mention the circumstances from which the horse was purchased and whether you had a vetting? I presume not given that (to my limited knowledge) tell-tale signs before the onset of what you describe above like tripping, leaning, being generally unbalanced tend to present before an actual fall which may have been picked up in a vetting? If I'd bought your horse and something this significant cropped up so soon, I'd be arguing with the seller that the horse was unfit for sale as presumably you've bought said horse as a riding horse? Did you see the horse worked? I find it hard to believe that the seller was unaware of this.

I very much hope that I am wrong, but I think it may by best to prepare yourself for the situation where you and the horse part company- either back to the seller if possible or potentially PTS if the horse is deemed dangerous.

Sorry to be blunt, but I suspect you also are thinking this.

Sending best wishes- please let us know how you get on with your vets visit.

On a more positive note- just had a think and remembered a friends horse years ago that fell asleep on the yard and fell over- did it fairly frequently- could this be a less sinister explanation? I hope so! Fingers crossed for you.

You really need a vet to advise that's why you not had any replies you are doing the right thing calling the vet .
Good luck on Thurday.
