Thats fantastic news. I have sponsorship from the firm I work with, its only £800 a year but it really helps with entry fees

Thanks MoonWalker, did you approach local businesses then? How much did you ask for and for example did you promise to be competing at specific events etc? Do you now set up some embroidered clothing with your bro's logos on?

Sorry for the million and one questions!

Thats brilliant news! Those of you who do have sponsorship, how did you go about approaching people and what do you offer them in return?

I was lucky, my boss asked me if I wanted sponsoring! And I don't have to do anything in return other than write down the name of the firm on the commentary form.

I'm thinking of approaching local businesses who I know personally, and also my current employer who is already incredibly supportive. Do I have to prove anything to them? for example would it be good to get quotes from my locally reknowned instructors on the letter? Any tips much appreciated!!!! x

Think you need to point out the benefits to the SPONSOR, i.e what they will actually get out of it.
There was an article in either eventing magazine ot the BE magazine last year on how to write a letter to business's for sponsorship. I'll have to see if I can find it.
