Please can someone shed some light on my situation, or just listen while I have a rant!

So as most of you will know Spider went into the vets about her suspensory ligament damage and whilst there had he impacted wolf teeth out, now she had nearly 11 weeks off before I started riding her again, but was lunged for a few weeks before that in walk and trot in sidereins which were very loose to start with then I gradually increased the tightness so she was working round and working nicely behind. Kind of started from basics again when I got on her an dlet her poke her nose a bit (as she loves to) and was walking trotting and then introduced canter for about 3mins. Now last week I started to try and work her a bit rounder and she isnt having any of it infact she was so bad yesterday that just with a contact on her I pushed into trot and she was bucking and very reluctant to go forward, then any pressure on her mouth in trot and she goes to rear

I am seriously at my wits end with her, her mouth is ten times worse and I dont know what to do

on the plus side her hinds are working very well!!

Will probably get vet out next week for her check up and to see what he says but can anyone on here help at all?

She is in a training loose ring loxenge copper snaffle or a 2 ring lozenge happy mouth continental gag.

HELP!!!

Hi there,

My friends pony had a similar problem following removal of deep wolf teeth - he was found to have a sliver of tooth left in his gum. This was removed and he then recovered with no more problems. Could this be a possibility?

It could I will ask. But my vets are very good and I can imagine a thorough job was done as she was knocked out for it as had an op at the same time

Bugger, you might need another xray just to check all the WT is out. Impacted ones can be slightly more problematic than normal ones.

and I have no idea what they are, vet said to hibiscrub them and call if they get any worse, so may be having vet out for them both again!! next week

Luckily he is feeling fine in himself though so thats good!

My friends vet was excellent too, it was just one of those unfortunate things where the teeth were deep and had to be dug out. Probably unlikely, but may be worth checking.

Good luck!

I cant even mooch and hack her at the mo as she has started napping and rears at any pressure on the mouth when you try and turn her in the direction you want to go! I am absolutely tearing my hair out!!

Get your EDT to take a look - Bloss had a bit of her wolf tooth left in her gum after they had been removed and she wouldnt take any contact on the rein either.
