Having never had a horse that has had these removed before .... please can anyone advise me on how long before I can expect him to be able to be ridden again!

They aren't considered huge or a difficult job so I am hoping no complications.

I need to book him in to go off for schooling once he is OK so just wondering when to book him in for!

Thanks in advance!

Your vet should advise you on this - each horse is different. I've only ever had then removed from the mouths of youngsters - ones that are not yet under saddle.

My 3yo had his out last week. My dentist said to leave it a week and he'd be fine to be bitted again. I'm going to leave it 2 weeks though just to make sure!

We were told a week to 10 days when our mare's wolf teeth were taken out last summer. seeing a how she is a fatty and needed to be kept going otherwise she would have got even fatter with that long off, we borrowed a Dr Cooks bitless bridle off a friend and after about 4 days (with vets agreement) started riding her again. She went so well in it, we actually didn't bit her again for a month
