How long do you wait after removal before riding? I've been advised anything from 1 day to 1 week? Is there an absolute or if they seem ok mouth looks to be ok do you go ahead and ride??

I was told to leave it a week, but my horse's mouth was quite sore from sharp edges on her teeth as well (it was picked up on the vetting when I bought her).

My EDT said 10 days of no bit.
I rode him after a week in my micklem bridle as a bitless and lunged him in it (or his headcollar!)
No way I'd have a bit in after a day
