Hi i posted yesterday about Wolf having his x rays on his HUGE hock and you were all very kind, sending vibes and best wishes.

Well, after being told the vet would be here at 12pm and then eventually turning up at 4pm i was already

as i had had a long time to think of possible outcomes.
The vet sedates him, i get into the x ray gown and manky gloves and hold the plate.

Vet lines up x ray machine and...

Nothing.
So he rings the maunufacturer and does what they say and still it wont work.

So we have to leave it

i am not paying for yesterday - made that very clear.

So still no further forwards im afraid

Sorry to hear about that...

I'd really advise geting him reffered to the Vet College. You're so close, the results can be seen there and then on the screen and the picture quality is FAR clearer than mobile machines can produce...

The problem is the RVC is double what the mobile one costs by the time ive travelled him there and back and his isnt covered by insurance as he did it within 3 days of bringing him home.

My vets bills alrady stand at £520 with 2 more to come, plus x rays.

I may need to sell myself to pay for it!

Kidney anyone??

Actaully the quality of the picture is not far better - it would be exactly the same. Thats if they have a DR or CR processor. The old type mobile xray machines which require manual or machine processing (ie with fixer etc) are probably poorer but very few (if any) equine practices still use these.
I guess all you can do is hang on for another few days eh?

I know what you mean about vets bills, mine getting higher and higher.
I hadnt thought of selling a kidney tho!
