Women convicted of cruelty/ Yorkshire

Can I just correct you there. Dancer belonged to my friend and I and was only on loan to Joanne Bristow. Dancer went to her yard in September 09 and at that time was fat, healthy and in lovely condition. He was seized from her yard in March 10 and PTS in July 10. He had reached that state in six months!
We had initial contact and told that although she was pregnant everything was fine, he was happy and in good condition. This was confirmed by a third party, then we were told she had post natal depression, but things were still ok. Then it all went quiet. We only found out about his death from the RSPCA.
I will never forgive myself for letting him go to her but she came with multi references.

Awful :(

From the article it seems as though they saved the stallion? Did you read elsewhere that it had to be put to sleep? Unless I missed that bit. Poor thing sounds as though he was literally at deaths door :(

ETA Not sure why I thought he was saved. Rest in peace poor horse.

So you never thought of checking up on him then?

We lived over two hundred miles from her and went down to the address she had initialy given us and she was not there and no one knew where she was. By that time it was too late he was dead, but we did not know it.

It's absolutely sick. And she's only ordered to pay back £700 to the RSPCA when it cost them £30,000!?

And people critise the rspca?????? The JG case cost millions to bring to court, I don't think people quite realise the costs involved in bringing prosecutions, and no-one else will do it, leaving a charity responsible for bringing owners to justice!!!

Frozzy I take it this is the stallion you posted on here about when you found out about the seisure, that was only recently though?

We had heard only through another stallion owner whose colt was seized. The RSPCA would tell us nothing quoting data protection which did not apply to us as we were his owners. We initialy thought he had been gelded and loaned out as Joanne Bristow did not pass over the passports which had our name and address in. Full WPCS green pasports. WPCS had heard nothing either.

RIP poor horse :( I'm shocked she was only ordered to pay £700 when it cost the RSPCA £30,000, she should be ordered to pay at least half of the costs!!

Skewby I also think this is not the right time to start questioning the past Frozzy is most likely quite upset at the moment and probably thinks things like that all the time. I'm sorry for your loss Frozzy :(
