I am looking for a horse to buy bring on and sell, had a lovely 10 year old horse vetted and unsuprisingly came up with 2 splints which i had already spotted. the horse is an ex racehorse which i would be wanting to turn to a general riding horse. I have had another ex racehorse with a splint which never effected his performance so that side of things does not worry me, its will it be sellable in a years time because then i am going to uni? and i would idealy not want to sell it for less than i baught it for. owner will not budge on price of 1500 which is already a little on the steap side considering horse has been in the field for 2 years, she wont budge on the price hopping to find an inexperianced person to buy him without vetting i expect

how much will the splints effect the value of the horse? it wont be used for showing.

If not used for showing and splints are formed, hard, cold and not bothering the horse, I would have no problem with them at all. They would be mentioned on a vetting but are not usually considered of clinical significance.

wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

and as for showing i have regularly seen horses at County level with splints so no need to totally rule out showing either
