Wondering if I have a giant on my hands!

The 3 previous labradors we have had have been relatively small. Not only weight/roundness wise but height.
Very easy to weight manage, Spud was a sturdy paw at each corner but always smaller and slim, Doug, probably doesn’t count and out first was petite aswell.
A few people have commented on Bert’s paws, one lady said he is going to be huge as he has skin to grow into (don’t all puppies)
Anyhow, this evening we have just had a visit and play with the, apparently biggest sister from the litter. She’s half his size!
I’ve worried a bit about his weight, he’s been quite skinny but looks in my eye about right now.
Now I am wondering if I am starting to believe other peoples predictions
Luckily he has manners and and walks nicely on a lead so it won’t matter. He can be my big to Cecil’s tiny!

Ah I know, I don’t care either way. I’d just assumed!
Just spoke to his breeder tonight, she said the sister wasn’t the smallest and he wasn’t the biggest as tiny pups.
Interesting there can be such a difference between litters.
At this point he could end up bear or mouse size for all I care! I just thought he was small so was really surprised!

Our vets had a weight chart for dogs with predictive lines on it. We found our boy tracked really well to his line and ended up exactly where he was predicted to be. It was fun to follow.

Your post reminded me about 2 kitten sisters (moggies) I had once. One was only a little bit bigger in the body, but her paws was at least twice, or a bit more, the size of her normal paw sized sister. The kitten with big paws body size as an adult, is the reason for why the cat flap into my Summer cabin's cat enclosure is actually a small dog flap.

My two are very different in build/size. Mitch is very leggy/skinny/tall, Goose is a four square (skinny) much shorter dog. He has a very small head compared to Mitch. Believe me, they get lots of food, they’re just very active.

I love seeing youngsters grow, can’t believe you haven’t posted a pic!

Sex characteristics dictate that dogs are generally bigger than bitches. Check the breed standard if you're concerned. My oldest male and his daughter are undersized as per the standard but I prefer small dogs as I'm small myself

When I first met my hubby he had a black lab called Duke he was huge like a Rottweiler size with a massive head. He had a brother from the same litter called Jet and he was tiny in comparison
