Sat at work (bored as usual) and wondering why I am classed as a veteran at 35 by BE but not til I reach 50 by the BSJA?
Also trying to figure out why women become veterans earlier than men (45 vs 50).

Could it be the bounce, splat, thud factor?

I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing the other day....well the bit about why women get to compete as vets at 45 and men at 50 anyway

Mind you....I can think of plenty of 50+ male competitiors still competing at the very top of the sport....let alone in vets classes

There's a really good international vets circuit too....so lots of opportunites to compete abroad with the Union Jack on your saddlecloth if you qualify....and at sensible heights too

Dont laugh but am starting off with the 85cm unaff as he hasn't jumped indoors before and I cant be bothered to go over tonight for the clear round (clipping anyway).
Then plan on doing the 1m and 1.10 open. Guess I'm in for a long wait between 85 and 1mtr

BLOODY HELL

You are gonna be there hours, you may as well go home in between for the BN lol

Well I think you are being sensible - perhaps I should have done this without being stupid and scaring poor Winston to death - Im sure he thought we were being interrogated with those bright lights lol

Sensible yes but do feel a bit silly taking a Grade B in to an 85cm unaff. Just watch me get eliminated at fence 1 now!
Fortunately i have a pupil doing the BN and disco so will occupy my time shouting at her.

Hee Hee! You just reminded me of the time my very nervous cousin took my uncle's Grade A, to a local RC show and did the Novice WH. He jumped clear

, and then got placed 2nd even though he did the best show. Judge to cousin 'Thats your Alan's **** ' cousin replies 'yes, how do you know' judge ' because I saw him jump at Hickstead'
In his latter years that horse made my cousin very happy by jumping round 2'6 courses and no doubt kept him, self happy too. RIP Glen
