We have recently put our mare on NAF shake relief which has really helped with her head shaking but she has sussed out when its in her feed because of the strong smell.we have tried honey, molasses, marmite tea and garlic powder to cover the smell up but after using each one for a few days, she then stops eating it because she knows its in there. we have also tried syringing it but she dribbles it everywhere.

any suggestions in what to do????

Yup - go straight to Tescos and buy a couple of cartons of their own cheapo apple juice. Slop a cupful in on top of the made up feed and DON'T stir it any more. Jinxing things saying this but I have never known this to fail. If it doesn't work, up the amount of apple juice and reduce the amount of supplement for a few days. Then gradually increase one and decrease t'other til ned is happy that you're not trying to poison her. Could take a month!

You could try mint or apple juice

Also, you could try hollowing a sliced carrot, filling it with the supplement and feeding it

I use apple juice but that didn't work for a friend of mine who uses apple sauce instead!

Another friend of mine uses a syringe (like wormer) and mixes it with water and peppermint or vanilla essence?

You could try just peppermint/vannila essence in the feed it is very strong so might work?

Good luck
