My first "proper" jumping lesson in 15 years had to be cancelled last week because my instructor was sick so I had it today and I absolutely loved it. Totally restored my faith in my ability. Did some grid work and then practiced with a bounce/canter pole. I nearly fell off but in a way proved to myself that I won't fall off as easily as I thought I would. As I came round to the fence with a bounce/canter pole my horse did a huge buck about 1 stride before. He then took off from in front of the canter pole and cleared that and the jump in one go. I lost my stirrup and then when he landed he stuck his nose between his legs and bronked across the arena - LOL. I then went round a small course, about 6 jumps no bigger than 2ft 6-ish. Hardly big fences but I don't think I did too badly considering I have only hopped over a dozen or so small jumps in the last 15 years. I had butterflies this morning but now I can't wait for the next lesson.
