Firstly hello and well done to Jo C who I bumped into yesterday at Harold's park

Well we started the say off a bit disastarous as my navigation took us on a bit of a wild goose chase and we got stuck in a small road in the car and trailer and on trying to do a turn to get out I hadn't noticed a low metal post and drove my wheel right into it and it got caught under my car

We thought we were stuck for good! I pulled the bumper off too! After 15 mins of laughing...then near crying and panic, my friend and I managed to yank it from under my very crumpled wheel area and do a 1000 point turn to get free

Ok so we got there...eventually! My friend rode first and then we had to wait 1hr 45 for my classes. Louis had got very tired and bored by then and was a little hard to warm up for the novice...a bit tense and lazy. He went average for the novice test but I was a little angry with him as he wasn't very willing to cooperate! Well we changed into his double bridle and warmed up for the elementary and he really started working! He was such a little star and although he was clearly feeling tired in the test he worked his little socks off and gave me everything he could. It was only his second elementary so I wasn't expecting too much...but oh my god....he came second

I was so pleased with him! He was so much more consistent and strong in the bridle and really really started pushing behind.

the scary thing is it's novice open from now on an if I want to qualifier for the novice regionals it will have to be in the open section!

yes Jo thought it was funny at first too and we laughed for a little bit before we realised we were stuck! We laughed the whole way home at what a bad run of luck we have had for the past two wks!

It survived thank god but my bumper is currently sitting in my boot and I think on of the side panels is a bit deformed so may need a little work! Whoops! At least my friend and I and the horses were all ok!

We got 64% which I was pretty pleased with for his second attempt. His first time out he got 59% so it's a big improvement. We've been getting him used to the double for about 3 months now and he goes really well in it so I have decided to see how he competes in it. We have always worked him a level above at home so now he is starting to learn some medium movements my trainer thought that he should get used to the double. He seems to like the double quite a lot and because he tends to be quite heavy and low in his head carriage, the double has just helped to bring him up slightly and sit and work more correctly from behind. I school and teach him new movements always in his normal snaffle at home and ride once a week in the double. I was just interested to see hwo well he'd take to it in the competition environment. I'm not sure yet whether I'll continue to compete him in it but we will continue getting him stronger in it so the next step up isn't such a shock for him if that makes sense?

Thanks! I know how you feel, I have had the same attitude for a while but then a couple of weeks ago I thought...sod it, it's now or never! I was nervous the first time but I thought what's the worse that can happen

! I say take the plunge!

what did OH say about car?

Again there was just lots of eye rolling and tutting! I think he accepts it because to be fair he has had far more accidents than me! I am generally quite a good careful driver! Jo and I have just a run of bad luck over the past two weeks!

I dont have anyone to call for me, I might have to smile sweetly at other competitors

I used to be in the same position...that's why I ALWAYS make sure now that I have someone with me and I really get so nervous if I know I have to learn a test...

You could always ask someone to read for you when you're there. I would always be willing to read for someone I didn't know if they asked nicely
