Well to say I was a little bleary eyed at being woken up at 4.30am was an understatement, but still managed to get OH up dressed and out of the house for 5.15
Arrived at the field to find my 2yr old fast asleep on his side, but luckily he hadn't rubbed any of my pathetic plaits out. He loaded like an angel fist time so we set off early which was just as well as OH decided to go the scenic route!
Arrived at westpoint just as the were calling the class before me to go in, so quickly put his bridle on, attempted some quater marks that were even more pathetic than my plaits and unloaded cue one very vocal youngster who i think my have actually bust my right eardrum
Everyone elses horses were immaculate and so beautiful, so I fully expected to come last in my class, so how chuffed was I to get pulled in third
however he then decided he couldn't possibly stand still for the judge, which was interesting and on the final line up was called in a respectable fifth.
The judge was lovely and said he had wonderful movement but was a little too light to be a hunter - she thought he'd do better as a riding horse so I was even more chuffed to find out i'd entered the wrong class and still been placed
We didnt stay to do the pot sports horse class because it was such a long wait for it and he had been so good in the morning so loaded straight up and set of home, forgetting to look at the proffesional photos
, but took some lovely ones of his permed mane when we got home
So all in all was really chuffed with him, he behaved so well considering it was his first time out of the field since november, and by far the largest show he'd ever been to. Roll on bath and west on wednesday, were doing the small riding horse class
