Benny had his wolf teeth out this morning and I took the opportunity to spruce him up :) he had tail brushed and raked, full body work out ;) feathers trimmed, jaw trimmed, ears and bridle path trimmed and mane tidied, he was apparently microchipped but we couldn't find it anywhere :( so he's been done again, but my smart little chappy is all ready and smart for school :D I will post some pics for cc tomorrow, I suspect my tail and mane pulling is a bit under zealous, but I just had to post, ok, he wasn't brave, he had no choice being knocked out, but I'm so happy and so very grateful to have him, I look forward to seeing my little monster every single day, I am sooo going to enjoy a break while he goes away to be backed but my god I absolutely can't wait till he comes back either! Stupidly pointless post, but there we are :D

He is just under 15.3 at the moment and the string test indicates he will go another hand:eek::D, I know its not the most amazing tidy up but its nice to see him a bit more spruced up, tail still needs work and the mane looks a bit wierd becaus some of the black bits are shorter than the white bits and it makes it look a bit wonky! He now has the hair cut down at his withers and a grown up boys bridle path ready for his tack proper :D:D His head is still huge though and no amount of trimming his beard or ears can disguise this:mad:;)

Im very proud of my lad, can you tell? :D but CC is more than welcome, particularly confo what are his faults?

Righto QB, I've got you booked in to do some trimming and sprucing for my two this weekend. I'll bring the cake ofc ;)

Very nice job. From ford fiesta to rolls royce in one go. He's looks grand. Unusual fact markings but quite similar to one I know, who has a big ole white blaze. All over his face ;)

He's a smart boy and nothing bad at all leaps out at me RE his confo. He actually looks very well balanced at the moment. :) As he's still growing, I'm sure that he'll go bum high at some point (my two year old looks like a slide :p ). As long as the front end catches up in the end, it doesn't really matter. ;)

I do love his markings on his face - so unusual.
 
Looking nice, will be fab when he is in proper work and starts to build some topline. Nothing much to criticise from me, I think his big head will look more in proportion when his neck is more muscular, but he's never going to have a dainty head!

I think he'll be lovely.
 
OK, do you know his breeding? How old? Am assuming he's 3-ish? Nice lightweight over-height cob type, good weight (nice to see one NOT pig fat), good limbs, hind leg a bit too straight - could do with more angle - and the hips are tending to being "rafter" or over-wide at the pins, but a nice type all the same. Colour is nice, but irrelevent.
 
Nice chunky bridle with broad noseband will tidy that head up, I'd tighten up his feathers/heels more, if you are going to take them off, then take then off (IMO) otherwise he looks a nice sort, a little straight behind maybe but looking good!
 
Golly he is nice should look well under saddle.

Sorry to be critical but as a relatively new hairy leg owner I feel sure you should actually post instructions for tidying legs up.

My boy is a Demi god of handsomeness but has a hogged mane growing out and I am so rubbish at tidying his legs he looks like he has been savaged by a ferret (apologies to any ferrets on here) so I feel sure there is a rule somewhere that you should reveal your secret.
 
Ha ha, well, thank you all for your comments, Cortez, he is actually 50% tb and 25% connie, so way more hunter type than oversized cob, with regards to feathers, he does have them but tbh, they are not of the heavyweight cob variety so for him I just pulled them out at rightangles to his legs and snipped, this gets rid of most ugly lines, although when it comes to showing properly I will do as we used to do with our heavyweight coblet and clip them out properly, always go against the lay of the hair and I always use a guard, it gives a nicer finish. As I said, it helps a bit when your victim is incapacitated on drugs :D he will be shown primarily in show hunter and eventually working hunter, perhaps a coloured class or two, but that's at least a year away, he has a lovely chunky bridle in a lighter brown for everyday use but will be having a really nice chunky hunter bridle for showing... Ultimately I want to event him when he is mature enough and
He has lovely paces on him so may try our hand/hoof at a bit of dressage too. I'm really pleased with the comments, thank you all :D I knew he was a wee bit straight but sometimes when you look at them everyday it's difficult to judge, and especially hard to be objective when they are your baby. I'm so proud of him :D
