Today was the annual open day at Moreton Morrel for Warwickshire college. for this the Pre-farriers had to do a forging competition which consisted of making a plain bar shoe with no holes, a fullored, concave shoe with no nail holes and a staple.
I was nearly sick with nerves before we started but was suprised how much i really enjoyed it. I went into the forge with the oppinion that I didn't care where I came on the day as it was just a bit of fun, so imagine my suprise when I went bac half an hour later to see i was inthe lead.
Over all me and my best friend Tied for 2nd and 3rd place and the result was decided on by the plain stamp. and i had the better shoe so i came second.. below are the pieces we made and our rosettes.
