WOOD CHEWER

There is stuff you can paint on the wood, but i would wonder why she was doing it first. Is she alone in field? bored in stable? It can also be doen to diet, is she getting enough fibre?

i used a field muzzle to stop my pony eating wood but he ate everything even trees & he had a good go at metal too

Well hay and grass are the best source of fibre but if these are not readily available then you can get cubes etc. But i am no expert an would advise you to seek advice before changing hard feed. These were just things i have read and I read that vices such as cribbing can be down to many things. If you have only had the horse a week, did the owner tell you she did this? Was she vetted prior to buying? I would also try googling cribbing and see what that say's too. I know you can look up horse vices.

I had a quick google for you and it say's horses wood chew may be down to diet, boredom or you nee to rule out ulcers. It also say's they may do it if they are unsettled or nervous. If you have had her a week she may be feeling unsettled.

P.s cribbing and wood chewing are not the same thing. So google wood chewing. I put cribbing in previous post, sorry for that. Wish you best of luck.

I usedthe supplement quitt to good effect. It squite hard to get hold of but it did stop my tb from chewing . Try upping the fibre content of the diet and also electric fencing has been a good detterent as well

it can be caused by two things bordeom or lack of fibre try turning her out with hay and paint your fence in crip stop or if that dont work try mustard!
