Any ideas on how to stop this? I intend to paint the fence posts with that stinky paint stuff (name escapes me currently) and the inside of the stables with cribox but I'd love to know if anyone has any other/better ideas.

The horses have ad lib hay/haylage, fed twice daily and have mineral licks so I seriously doubt that they have any deficiencies (apart from the obvious mental one). I'm going to start bringing the two likeliest culprits in from Sunday night but I would really prefer if they didn't eat their way out. :(

I have three tubs of Ben and Jerrys for the best answerers!

No idea, but am interested in peoples replies as my horse and a friends horse eats the post and rail and chews around the stable windows when tied up outside. Thankfully no eating inside the stable out!

She has plenty of grass, hay.

Am intrigued as to why the do it too!

oh i love ben n jerrys :D

mine started doing this last year ,i put him on a vit & min suplement and sprayed crib stop on the fences and he hasn't touched them since.

it was the kind of crib stop that you could use outdoors but i can't remember what it was called ,i used the whole bottle and was thinking this is going to be expensive doing it every few weeks but i haven't done it since this time last year and he's never touched it yet

Thanks guys! Have tried dung mixture with previous horse but it didn't work. Any further ideas? I've finished the caramel chew chew but still have phish food and chocolate fudge brownie.....?

I use Crib-box or if that fails I get some Daves Insanity Sauce (look it up online) and then paint that on. It's seriously hot chilli sauce and they'll only lick it once. Daves also works if you have rats chewing on anything, before you've filled up the bait boxes.
