Hi,

Thinking of changing to this from shavings. Shavings are becoming so expensive so need a cheaper alternative. Straw isnt an option because of dust (although I love the look of a nice cosy straw bed).

Any advice, suggestions appreciated.

Hi Merlins-mum,

What brand do you use? There are so many out there.

been using it for a few months, really like it. i use warm water to get it to fluff up quicker in the cold, kettlefull of boiling water + 1/2 watering can full of cold. it's economical and easy to muck out, and very absorbent.

Been using it for 3 weeks now and loving it - a doddle to muck out and only added a bag a week so far!!! I did use 20 bags to make my initial bed which is more than suggested but I now have a bed deep enough, it does not move, does not smell. I am very happy and so is my bank balance - just hope that with all these good reviews they don't put the prices up due to demand!!!

I bought Corley Biowood - great service too. Only got my stable a few weeks ago, read all these good reports so thought nothing to lose by giving it a go. So glad I did. To think of all those wasted hours sorting through hay or shavings. My boy was so dirty - I no longer dread looking over his stable door!!

I must be the only person not to like it! I was expecting something that fluffed up to something like Megazorb. I was surprised to find it is basically sawdust! I also find it heavier when soiled, than Megazorb. The watering business, is also fiddlier than just emptying a bag out!
