ok, on wood pellets, what do you do with the wet stuff thats discoloured but not wet enough to be chucked out

do you leave it to form a base, then remove the base at the weekend or mix it in and then just take out the really wet stuff when needed

and also, how is best to separate the wet from the dry to save wastage?

I take out the wet every day so don't really get too much discoloured stuff as gelding is pretty clean and goes in one spot. Any small amounts of discoloured stuff I just tend to mix in.

I take out the really wet stuff daily. Sort of like wet sand and in a clump. Any bits that don't get picked up on the shovel get mixed back in with the dry stuff.

I scrape back with the shovel over the wet patches to take back the dampish stuff until I get down to the really wet bit.

I hope that makes sense. I put in a bag a week. I am fairly lucky in that my boy tends to pee in more or less the same place each time he goes.

I have 2 on it and both are different.
One only wees in one place and is a box walker -or is if he doesn't get his breakfast 1st. -Therefore the wet which sticks in one place is taken out daily to avoid it being churned in. Poos are just picked out by hand (well glove).

The other has a deep litter style and the wet never taken out until it reaches the surface. Again the poos are skipped out.

Daisy is very neat, only wees in one place and doesn't churn it up. I just take out the wet when it clumps, the slightly discoloured is just mixed back in with the bed and i skip out the poo daily.
