Thinking of using this for winter but can anyone explain the process to me?

We've got rubber matting so would be using bed for 1/4 to 1/2 stable. Horse is a shire x

Basically empty a few bags (maybe 10 although you may need more in a big stable - see how you go) into the stable and spray some water on them and the pellets will fluff up. I tend to have quite deep beds (4" well packed down) on top of full rubber matting and I find they stay cleaner that way. To muck out, skim the droppings off and take out the wet when it rises to the surface. Don't do that throwing up against the wall thing you do with shavings etc as the droppings just break down and make a mess. Try to flatten the bed as much as possible with a broom/back of shavings fork and disturb as little as possible. You will need to experiment a bit in terms of how much/how often you add new. And also whether you dampen the new or not. I don't for one of my beds, do for another and for the third it depends on how it looks. I find that if the pellets have got really broken down (into a dust) then it's better to add them dry. Hope that helps. I've had mine on pellets for 2 years now - really wasn't convinced at first but now I've worked out what works for each of them the beds are always pristine. Good luck. :)
