Wood pellets - which supplier do you use?

We've been using Corley Bio Wood Pellets for a few months now and I'm happy to say I LOVE THEM!

I will need to re-order in the new year and am comparing prices. Would appreciate those of you who use them to list which brand you use as google only throws up a couple.

I will then get some quotes and decide who to go with.
 
I too am a convert - they actually took the challenge of Farra on and so far are winning the piddle battle! I have only had one load so far, I got a 1000k in 15 k bags for £213 from LWP.

Delivery was good, but as said, only my first go.

I do use more than they say - 2 bags a week each horse on mats, but I suppose they are larger and more piddly than most - even Stinky is now turning into a sustantial cob.

I can't see me going back to shavings or megazorb unless I had to as they are so quick and easy and my bank balance is far healthier.
 
i pay 2,70 +vat per 10 kg unbranded pellets, delivered. i get them from gary hickman in kineton warks. good pellets. fluff up well quite white looking, no waste. (i on full beds and banks 15 bags to start a bed, 1 bag a week top up)
 
I'm surprised how dear some of them are that you all pay for.

£2.70 + VAT works out much dearer than the £2.34 including VAT and delivery I've paid for 100 bags of the Corley Bio Wood ones.

I've seen LWP advertised now for £215 including VAT and delivery 100 bags. Just not sure if the £19 saving is worth it as I've no comparison between the brands.
 
I used LWP then switched to Corley.......and won't be going back!

Corley have beaten LWP hands down with delivery & service. Plus as their bags are thicker, I haven't had any split/burst bags (have had 3tonne from Corley now, the only tonne I ordered from LWP came in 15kg bags despite 10kg bags being ordered and of the 67 bags 17 were split/burst. Plus despite request they didn't call prior to delivery, so ended up being dropped outside the wrong barn)
 
I have only just started to use wood pellets and am using Thirsty bed from Chapelstone as they were able to deliver a half pallet load as I only have one horse and keep him at home it seemed the sensible option. they are in 15kg bags and seem to fluff up really well.
 
are the specials in individual bags?

i've had a tonne from LWP for £213, in 15kg bags, 1 bag was split when it came off the courier. relaly pleased with it and their service was good (arrived within the 3/4 working days as expected and the courier company called me first)

bit annoying though that we had to offload it from the lorry as the courier didnt have a forklift, but thats probably the courier companies fault not LWP.

Next time I will prob try Corley see what they are like as prices dont differ much.
 
Try a search on the net for 'wood pellets' (not mentioning horse bedding) and you'll probably find loads. I found about six near my home, all with vastly different prices for the exact same product. The cheapest is £170 a tonne loose, the worst £254.

One tip, when you buy make sure you say they are for a wood burning stove, NOT horse bedding. If they're for heating a house they have only 5% VAT on them, whilst bedding attracts the full 17.5%. It's the exact same pellet, whatever the use.
