Hi, I am just about to order wood pellets and now am dithering about unbranded versus branded?

Any views would be helpful.

Thank you.

I tried branded and unbranded, but am a massive fan of Silva Bed - they're slightly pricier but they last for ages, smell lovely and the most absorbant ones I've found. I've used 1.5 pallets of them in 12 months for 4 horses stabled everyday between 12-15 hours depending on the time of year - far less than I used for White Horse premium pellets.

PS I have no connection to Silva Bed - just a very happy repeat customer!

That's really interesting, thank you. Absorbency is so important - amazing that you have used only 1.5 pallets in 12 months.

I don't use wood pellets myself, but I know quite a few people who use unbranded made for heating and they seem pleased with that. We also use that for the cats and it works just fine.

I've said before, so sorry if boring. Be careful of what is in the wood pellets. Some are meant for wood burners and not suitable for a horse or owner to breathe in. Too dusty and dogey left overs compressed.

Just tried first batch of unbranded to try to save a little money, but not impressed - very sawdust like, didn't last long and nowhere near as absorbent. So it's back to good old Sorbio which we find superb, if pricey 🙈

Me too. Really impressed with them. I also use aquamax but I think Silva bed is more absorbent and cheaper.

Was just going to say this - I’ve just started using them and they are really good and smell really fresh!
