I'm just about to start rubbing down my wooden horsebox and I was wondering if anyone could advise me on a good paint to use, I know it has to be a masonry but when I had a new ramp last year I used a pretty well known make and it was quite thin :(

any advice on this or anything else to do with repainting lorries would be fab :)

Right, so you used the Sandtex Exterior Gloss - which is for wood and metal - and NOT the masonry paint - which is for brickwork, blockwork etc - then:rolleyes:

Now, what is your actual question?

thats a contradiction.lol

anyway i cant find any of that brand that says suitable for wood at all.

Sorry my use of the word masonry wasn't correct

but it seems 'that brand' does have paint suitable for wood.

Actual question:

What's the best paint for repainting a wooden horsebox, a nice thick paint that preferably only needs one coat!!

I will be sanding the lorry down to remove loose, flaked paint and to create a key in the paint that isn't damaged.

Thanks in advance

Well as you're already using this brand why don't you just use Sandtex® One Coat Exterior Gloss Paint?:confused::confused::rolleyes:

I used Santex when I had my new ramp fitted and I found it to be very thin compared to what the rest of the lorry had been painted with (I don't know what it was painted with as it was done prior to me purchasing it)

So I thought'd I'd post on here to see if anyone had used a make or paint they rate highly. :)

hi My OH is a painter and decorator this is the reply he gave me. first sand down then apply an undercoat on the first day then second day apply gloss dulux or crown paints, great finish:)

hopes this helps
