Hi there

Does anyone know if there is anywhere you can purchase reasonably priced wooden wall mounted saddle racks? My saddlers and back people keep telling me that I shouldn't use the plastic coated metal ones as they leave ridges in the saddles (even with numnahs!!) - and I've currently got my saddles perched on workmate benches. Whilst this don't caause the saddles any problems, they take up ridiculous amounts of space, and look very untidy

Any suggestions??

honeybee, if you have metal racks up already, the answer is to get pieces of firm foam about 2" thick cut to shape (rectangle with half-circle one end, saddlepad shape basically) and then tape those on to the racks for the saddles to sit on. i hate seeing saddles on metal racks for the reasons you describe.
alternatively, the pole-type saddle racks are very reasonable and totally avoid the problem, and let the saddle air really well.
i think the wooden ones are pretty expensive, by comparison.
