Has anyone any info on Woody Pet bedding? I am thinking of using it instead of shavings (on rubber mats) and wondered if anyone had any experiences of it? Apparently after the initial make up of a bed it is cheaper and easier to get rid of.

Our YO and some of the girls on my yard use it. They all seem to rate it quite highly and they have filthy horses (by their own admission) that usually go through tons of shavings per week.
It goes down like pellets, then you add water to it to make it fluff up on the initial first bed (about 8 bags they say) and then when you top up you only use about 1 bag per week and you sprinkle this over the top and let the existing moisture in the bed do the fluffing up.
It is supposed to cut time and costs dramatically, although I don't use it.

Used to use Aquamax and mats for last 4 years, have just swapped to Woody Pet as I can get it delivered and cheaper. Very friendly, helpful company. Submit a question through their site. I got a huge discount by having 2 palletts delivered.

Their website is quite informative.

woman at my yard uses it. i think its good if your horse is relatively clean, if not then its a bit expensive. The bags are tiny and for £5 a time, id much rather put my horses on shavings!

Fab stuff, I used to use aquamax but find this better and cheaper, the pellets are smaller and breakdown quicker, when I put in a top up bag I tend not to water it just mix it in and with 24 hours it has broken down into the rest of the bedding, I find this keeps the bed much dryer as well especially as one of my boys is really messy. I got a great service from this company and also got discount for taking a pallet.
