Trying to find reviews on these boots and wondering if 10 months on anyone has any experience of them as i think they were fairly new.
Its a miserable day outside, summer feels well and truly over and I am dreading the mud fever routine. I use Protocon with good effects but if I could pop a pair of boots on it would reduce turn out time in the morning. I hate how mucky I get with the protocon and i go though so much of it each winter!
In my experience turnout boots just exacerbate mud fever. They heat up tendons, increase the likelihood of injury, and if any grit and mud gets underneath them it sits in a warm, damp environment and hey presto, you have mud fever.
Pig oil on the legs every morning before turnout - solves the problem. Lincoln make it in a spray bottle too so no faff or mess.
These are supposedly breathable so was thinking... hoping that they wouldn't heat up the leg. I will look into the spray version of pig oil as that sounds like a good idea... now to stop my dogs licking the horses legs (they love pig oil!)!
