What a fab day
Took my 4YO out jumping for the first time, morning was freezing but she stood up nicely munching her hay while I attempted to get her legs & tail clean - hands were numb at this stage!
She loaded beautifully with her travel companion & off we went.
CANNOT believe how calm she was in a strange yard, she warmed up lovely & did everything I asked of her - wish some people would adhere to the left hand to left hand rule as we nearly clothes lined a couple of ponies
First round we did was just cross poles to get to know the course & get her used to the huge indoor - was very funny as the first thing she did when we went in was whinny looking for her companion - off we went & she really went so nicely - found it easy to judge her stride and she was very uncomplicated. Hit one pole but she didnt spooke, refuse or tank off at all.
Onto second round, bigger course & she jumped HUGE over some of the fences
BUT managed to go with her & she was so easy to collect after each fence - I spoke to her the whole way round & you could see her listening. Again one pole down so no rosette today but couldnt care less!
Total success
Havent stopped smiling...
We DID IT - huge achievement given my past confidence issues. Have been firmly bitten by the jumping bug again - never thought Id say that lol!
Heading out again in 2 wks
15 fences in total in each round
Couple of pics - these were the only semi usable ones, everything else was a blur unfortunatly.
