I've been promoted to a more advanced horse (probably because I live in a particularly attractive part of Wales so my riding school doubles up as a pony trekking centre which is summer hols busy, and this horse doesn’t hack out). I’ve been working towards getting her in self carriage. I’ve been getting her to round and soften in walk and trot fairly successfully, but today she stayed like that for the transition to canter.
Wow. What a feeling. Pretty much like flying.
I feel immensely privileged to be able to ride, particularly a horse that does THAT despite my riding. Amazing.
