Money now in the bank for trailer/jeep!

Got £8000 burning a hole in my pocket now.

Think I'm going to go halves on a trailer with another girl in the yard or buy my own for about £1500/£2000.

So that leaves me £6000 to spend on a jeep.

Looking for a 2.5 or 3.0 diesel - be only car though so needs to be comfy (ie jeep or decent shogun.....) must be able to handle pulling an ifor (or equivalent) and 2 fat horses (1 x 16 and 1 x 17)

I know I've asked a billion times but please be forthcoming with ideas.... xxx

PMSL at money buring hole in your pocket.

Honestly it's SOOOOOOOOO good to see you having so much fun!

No suggestions for cars other than I've always fancied an old Landy! And they're definitely not comfy (unless you have a nice fat cushion on the seat)

Don't know about cars but would definaly recommend getting your own trailer, avoids stresses down the line!

I'm sure you will find a very good deal on a 4 x 4 as prices have dropped recently due to the new road tax thing.

Didnt breezebenefactor mention he was selling a Landy - tow like a train.

Happy Spending

Jeeps are very nice BUT they are incredible expensive on serviceing & parts, much more than other 4x4s. A friend of mine loved his but had to sell it, just couldn't afford the costs. Not wanting to put you off, but you need to know.

deffo get own trailer...!

have had two Cherokees and never had probs, parts are just as exepensive as Landy bits but Jeeps don't rust like they do...!

best suggestion, go drive a few and see what you think... try the Jeep, the Landy, Shogun (or, even better the Mitsu Challenger 2.8 diesel) Trooper, Land Cruiser, Maverick/Terrano and see how you get on, you'll need to really like it if its gonna be your only car.

good luck....

when people say jeep parts are expensive - give me an example...sorry, but want to see if I can afford to run the bad boy! x

Your so lucky!!!! I can only dream of the day i will be able to get my own transport LOL.

Definatly get your own though, dont share as that will be too much hassle in the long run, and trailers cost next to nothing to keep anyway.

Another vote for the Trooper. I have a Bighorn (Jap import) and its very comfortable and tows very well. You can pick a really decent one up for the money you have.

Please beware of Chyrsler Jeeps. Last year my friends Jeep suddenly had an eletronic glip and the accelarator got stuck down, four people in the car were killed including two 10 yr old girls, including my friend and her daughter. On further searches there have been about 600 accidents of the same cause and infact at one stage there was a recall however Chrysler will never admit to this fault. It was so awful I am shaking typing this.

do you know what model/year it was...?

I'm not doubting your story but surely there would be a national outcry if cars were doing that - or am I far too niave for my own good? Horrible though what a tradgedy x
