Updaaaattteeee!!! Well, as most folk know, I've had an up and down time with my lad, but been on the up for a little while since moving yard etc. Well, been able to ride alot more recently, which is good, been on some lovely hacks with people on the new yard (walking I hasten to add - as poor P hasn't been cantered since he was broken in (he's 11 now!!!) anyway! We went for a hack on Saturday WITH a canter which sadly ended with a friend coming out the side door from a seriously high buck, and breaking her collarbone, which was awful, but it made me think. Alot. So... for the first time EVER, I took P out for a hack on his own tonight. Well okay, daddy and doggies came too at a distance, but really he was on his own! He said everything looked a little odd, but he was very brave, and never looked back, really walked out ears pricked... so we went off round the HUGE field... and we had a canter up the hill! He was amazing, never questioned being asked to pull up, really seemed to enjoy himself - and so did jhis mum!!!!

I know, felt dreadful for her... weren't intending to canter, but her chappie is an ex-racer, he wanted to play, so did the lovely mare, so they... did! VERY chuffed to find I have really good brakes though! Seriously though P was a star when she came off, her horse bolted, other lass went after him, I had to jump off Peds and although he dithered a bit and was clearly upset, he behaved very well! Apart from having a tantrum and tearing a protective plastic sleeve off a young tree and throwing it!

Yay thanks Slinky!!! Will take him out for a quiet road hack tomorrow so he doesn't get the idea solo means he'll get go-faster stripes painted! Im sooo darn proud of him!!!! He's really suddenly passed the corner (Ive gone round the bend) and proving what a damn good horse he is!

face when I read it! yep, really thrilled, just been out for a walk hack with a friend so the lad doesn't think he's in track-training! He was ace, although I suspect he's trying to work out if he fakes a stumble he might get away with a stride of trot ;-)
