Words Fail .......

why let a kid write an ad?!

I doubt that pony is 14.2!! Also note the ad says it doesn't have a passport.... hmmm!

Doesn't bother me, pony looks good, well kept. Some very academic people I know haven't got a glue in commonsense when it comes to horsecare. The advertiser may be poor at writing good English, but seems clever enough with horses.

Took me a moment to realize there's only one pony for sale. At first I thought there were two - Rosay and Sheey. :p

LMAO me too!

Yes blah blah the pony looks fine/spelling isnt the end of the world... but HOW does anyone think sheey is the right spelling for she? :(

:) I'd go if the pony was the sort I was looking for. The photos help in this advert.

I don't take much notice of wording in advertisments anyway and although it took a bit of reading I got the gist, all I want to know is how old, and how big. For the rest I'd rely on my own eyes and hands.

Oh dear. The pony is nice but the English makes me wonder what they are teaching the scots in school.

Speaking as a teacher in Scotland, please note this person is NOT one of my pupils - at least I hope she/he is not! (If so I shall have to change career!)
I had to wonder if this was for real, but, if not, then why would anyone think it was a good idea to do this?

Possibly a child posting without adult knowledge / permission?

Or just someone who struggles with literacy - as has been said as long as the pony is well cared for......

Call me a cynic, but this advert has done exactly what I think it set out to acheive - get it noticed! There are lots of ponies for sale like little Rosay - but this advert has got people noticing it and talking about it - hence more likely to sell the little cutey! Looking at the language/grammar and spelling, i reckon it was done on purpose!

PS- I don't like the fact she is tied up directly to a gate in one pic - baler twine is not that hard to come by!!!

There really isn't any excuse for an ad like that apart from laziness though is there? There are spell checkers galore available free on the internet. There are friends to ask. If the person who wrote it is a child they could ask their teacher. To have done none of those things worries me. If the owner of the pony can't be bothered to check that an advert makes sense can they be bothered to do vaccinations? Worming? Regular farrier visits? Dentistry? I think not especially as the pony hasn't got a passport. And I'm having very non-PC thoughts about whether the pony is owned or stolen.

I can assure you the Scots are taught proper English in school, this isn't even in the Scots language so they don't have that excuse either. Suspect its a foreigner, even those with dyslexia can spell far better than that, and I've seen enough suspect letters and emails in my job from overseas to think this is a foreigner who hasn't learnt proper English.

I doubt the person is a foreigner...more like a young teenager. The pictures are shocking as well..

I fancy a glass of ''Rosay'' after that lol! ;)

I agree with the need for a glass or two, but why are the pictures so shocking?? Maybe because she hasn't got a rug on...whoops see post in Stable Yard!

Surely not even quite a young child would spell that poorly? Blimey! Don't thunk it's a foreigner: basic words e.g. she are rarely hard to spell and question words such as who are very straightforward.

'rosay is a new forest pony sheey is 3 years old and sheey is 14.2 hands sheey has not been riding on yet be kos sheey is not been broking yet sheey still needs to bee broking bee for sum one gos on to her and starts riding her and sheey is a friendly pony and sheey gets on with uther horses to i ts a sham we need to sel her be kos wee are moving house but i need a good home for her sum one houw nos a bout horses thank yous for looking at rosay'

Id guess it was an adult(possibly not english) or a kid who is being forced to sell her! :p

Id say adult because of these minor points
Advert What kid would say
is 3 years old 3yo
be kos coz
bee b
i ts tis

Or just someone who has never been to school or allowed on the internet before!!

I couldn't help but smile at this ad, although I dread to think what sort of offers the pony might get, am happy the pony looks well looked after at least :)

Still, I wonder how old the person who wrote the ad is?! xx

I think who ever it is has dyslexia. Think about how a Scot would pronounce the word "she" it would be sheey. I think its taken alot of guts to write this advert. The vast majority of people I know who have it would never attempt such a thing and the fact that each incorrect spelling is the same shows that they have put much effort into it.

My Dad is very intelligent and he struggles every year to write Christmas cards, to the point where he is practically in tears, he can't spell names he gets his words mixed up, he does it because he knows that his side of the family really aprichiate the effort he has put in (and Mum forces him so he keeps practicing). Yet get him doing his job and you would not find better (apart from my brother who was of course trained from a very young age!).

Sorry but I actually think its wicked to take the micky out of this person. Why not have a go at some one because they have brunette hair?

Only concern is that there is no passport - did they loose it or did they not know that they had to get one?
