i would really like to work in the horse racing industry, but i have never ridden a horse before is that silly? are there any jobs i could do that don't involve riding?

There are plenty of non-riding jobs in racing yards. Basically doing all the yard work, mucking out, grooming etc. How old are you? You could look at the courses at the Northern Racing College - I believe some are available to people who've not ridden before and can also be state funded.

There are also plenty of jobs at racecourses that you wouldn't need to ride for. In hospitality, management, administration etc.

As far as I know, the British Racing School takes those who haven't ridden before. There are lots of jobs in racing for non-riders. The problem is for those who are wannabe jockeys but aren't good enough (there are a lot of those!)
I would contact the British Racing School for a chat about options :)
