workers... a few questions.

I was wondering if anyone would be so kind as to clear up a few things for me.

Some of the articles I've read say I'm only allowed a snaffle, pelham or double but I was under the impression that anything goes in a workers class?

Roundings... are they okay or would I be better with double reins?

Other than that, I think I'm sorted tack-wise.

Any normal bit is usually allowed, you may need to check individual show rules to be certain, most judges will prefer the more traditional, and in my view correct, snaffle, pelham or double, as long as the horse is going correctly and gives the judge a good ride the bit/ noseband/ martingale should not matter.

I would not use roundings, they have no place in an adult class, if you cannot use two reins correctly stick to a snaffle, don't forget the judge will be riding and most will be more than capable of using two reins.

Never ever use roundings in any showing or workers class.
Small children can use split reins but no one over about the age of 12 should be using them.

For workers you can use any bit your horse goes well in bareing in mind that you have to go clear to get through to the show part of the class (although occasionally you get lucky and go through on a 4 faults). No changes of tack are allowed between jumping and flat section and the judge will take into account the severity of the bit and its action.

Snaffle double or Pelham are the most acceptable and safe option if your horse goes well in them

the schedule doesn't say anything about certain bits not being allowed so I think I'll leave him in what he's used to and goes well in.
I wasn't sure about the roundings so thought I'd ask just to be sure. Double reins aren't an issue as I jump my own horses in them.
