Workers guide for dummy’s? Thinking of doing some workers showing but never done anything like it before. Any tips?

Find a clinic to go to, dont know your area but where i am there is often arena WH clinics and some on grass too, instructor can tell you all you need to know

What sort of horse do you have and what level of show are you planning on going to?

Not always huge jumps. Depending if affiliated or not. Quite often local shows start at 60 or smaller. Round of rustic jump. If clear (or sometimes 4f included depending on number of clears) do a show. Sometimes straight after your round but if done "properly" everyone comes back in after the jumping and it runs like a showing class. Horses/ponies striped and horses can be ridden by judge

But there is a huge range of ways it can be run now.

The standard varies enormously with local shows at one end of the scale and county shows at the other but the basic idea will be the same

Just a gentle suggestion, but if you really want some useful replies, you maybe need to give a bit more information on what you are asking and what level you are wanting to do. The answers will depend on this and it's a bit of a waste of people's time giving non specific advice when we don't know the basics of the question

Like people have said it really depends on what level you want to do. Affiliated it’s the Sports Horse GB and British Show Horse Association. Open workers and 1.15 for qualifiers & this can go up to 1.20 at RIHS and HOYS. Affiliated novice workers are 1m and restricted and amateur workers are 1.05

Yes it will affect confo marks but if she jumps well in a flowing, hunting style, rather than 'showjumping' and jumps clear she could still do well, as no horse is perfect.

biggest thing to keep in mind is that it’s supposed to workmanlike - if you’re starting out unaff i wouldn’t worry too much, just keep a nice steady pace and remember you aren’t showjumping! that goes for both the show and the jumping phase
