Eeeep, I've just realised I have a working hunter tomorrow with my highland (been moving and just gone basck to work so head in the clouds. How on earth I forgot I dunno).

Grey Highland mare.
I have a grey hacking jacket - is a yellow stock okay or is a tie better?
Is a white shirt acceptable and also beige jods?

I take I will need to use my french link rather than my kimblewick?
I have a black numnah which is mostly hidden.
No boots on horse!!

This is the Mundole Spring Show (so local event).
How does a working hunter generally proceed?

Many, many thanks

A tie is better, ride him in the bit he goes best in, white shirt and beige jods are fine.
You are usually asked to jump first, and depending on whether there are one or two judges, you will either go straight to individual conformation judging after jumping, or will be called back to be judged as a class - so, ride round, initial placing judged on type and way of going, then conformation. Then there may be a big shuffle before the final placings as the jumping marks will be taken into consideration.
If the entries are very large sometimes not everyone who got round the jumping is called back for the next phase of judging.
Have fun!

Don't plait a native

You can put boots on for the jumping section, but must take them off for the flat

Is your saddle black? The numnah needs to be discreet and same colour as your saddle.
