Working hunter/showing - gloves?

Considering doing some working hunter/showing (local level) with my horse. My tack is black, should my gloves match my tack, or is black a no-go?

In the UK black gloves were for mourning, hence riders in the show ring wear brown, although if you have black everything else they could be a dark brown rather than tan.
