hey im quite new to this so im very very sorry if im posting in the wrong bit =/

but im hoping some one can give me some advice

3 years ago i brough my lovely welsh section D math
and in this time we have mainly completed in showjumping :)
he has taken me from jumping easy 2ft classes to now doing 3ft1
we have qualified for north west champions 3 seasons in a row :) as well as trailblazers
However i really would like to do more than local shows we simply arnt going to get any where in Bsja. i took him on a day ticket and we had no chance to be honest he did very well DC but hes simply not fast enough and cant to the turns as tight so i aim for clears but most people get clears
however i recently went to my riding club for a working hunter clinic for fun ectt
and the judge loved him ectt
so i decided to look into it and im going to have a go
i live near Joanne Shaw who does extreamly well in working hunter so im going to go for some lessons as i need to be ''retrained'' hahaa and see what she says
IF!! she thinks we could do some county shows such as cheshire im going to have a go
However this is where i need your help :)
Im 18.. 19 next may
maths 15hh wesh D (nebo blood lines)
what hight will i be jumping county level
is there even a class for us
things like that
also do i need to register with anyone
hes already a reg D

erm anything you need to know just ask x

I would imagine you would do great working hunter...im tooo clued up on it myself just going by what i have seen and heard and i *think* one of the main things is to not go around the jumps to "show-jumpery" you have to do them more like you were hunting which is where i would imagine you would need some more instuction having SJ'ed for 3 years. I sure others on here will be able to give you more helpfull advice

Good luck with it and let us all know how you get on

You are lucky you have an m&m so your age isn't an issue!!! some of the country tracks for the sec d's are chunky and upto height, often have a water splash too. Judge's are looking for a good hunting pace, so don't use a SJ canter, sounds like you will do well and have a good time!

Jo Shaw will point you in the right direction. Ask her to explain the different options open to you. The heights for affiliated classes range from approx 76-84 cm for novice through to 84-99cm for opens. Look at the NPS and BSPS websites for their rule books and shows which hold their classes. Some of the nicest people in showing are to be found in and around the M&M WHP rings. Good luck and enjoy yourself.
