Working Hunter

I've always wanted to work Ty towards working hunter but alot of warmbloods apparently don't do very well due to them being 'foreign' looking - not my words!!

Wondering whether Ty would do well being an Irish TB or whether he'd be classed as too fine - he's quite chunky for a TB.....

Any photos of him to give a better idea of his type? Well if has a decent jump and good conformation you'd be fine IMO, I see a lot of finer working hunters doing quite well

How about Riding horse too?
My Irish TB did well in his 1st Riding horse class, he came 7th out of 15

Ty is so lovely by the way, I'm sure he will do well.

yeah I did think about riding horse too! My only problem is he's a bit of a sh@t when other people get on him - especially if they're strong with their hands......if he's jumping he doesn't care but on the flat he can throw tantrums.....just the thought of the judge flying over his head! ;-s

Definately give WH classes a go, but be aware that at some shows, especially the bigger ones, the judge will ride them.

Hopefully if we do a few low key things he'll get used to the show environment and be ok!

give it a go, whats the worst that can happen? He looks the same sort of build as mine and we're hoping to give working hunters a go this year. He's lovely by the way, glad you kept him
