As the title says really. Just wondered if anyone had any experience of putting a horse at working livery at Reaseheath (Cheshire) or any other college. What does it involve, and would you recommend it. pm me if you prefer.

My very energetic 20yr old tb x Han was going to go there. They were very good. They said that they wouldn't expect him to do any jumping lessons just flatwork & to be used in the stable management demos & that he would only be doing about 10hrs a week max of riding work. but he went out on loan instead a few months before he was mean't to go. So dont know what it would have been like if he actually went, but they seemed to be reasonable. Are you thinking of putting your horse there?

Friend of mine put hers at Welsh College, and I was really impressed when I took her. She is absolutely over the moon with the care and attention she gets and she gets regular updates on her too. WHy are you thinking of this? I was thinking of doing something similar with my mare but I have found a sharer now.

Considering it as a possibility. Daughter is about to start 2nd year at vet uni. We keep horse at home and last year I lookd after him and tried to keep him fit but it was hard work. And her course means she doesn't have a lot of spare time so he is really wasted. Have had a heart to heart with her, with many tears, and she has admitted she hasn't time for him. Could rough him off in field but desperately short of grazing so would probably still have to be in at night. Have tried loaning out our pony and was fraught with problems, so not too keen on that. Saw Reaseheath ad in local free paper and thought it worth considering cos I understandt you have them back for hols, which would be nice. Ideally could just do with someone to ride him from here and help with mucking out etc. but everyone suitable seems to have their own horse.
