working pupil availability

Hi
Can anybody give me some advice to be able to secure a working pupil post with a professional dressage rider. Does anybody know of any dressage riders currently taking on working pupils.

Experience includes hands on and foundation degree in equine science.

Get ringing/writing.
May be worth giving the Assoulines a ring they are really well set up for this kind of thing.

Your starting point should be yard and groom - that's where a lot of riders will post any vacancies. Next step would be to google dressage riders in your area (or the area you are looking to move to) and ring/email them. If you are struggling to find any look on the BD website for a list of trainers (most pro riders are also trainers) and they should have contact details on there.

Be willing to do anything asked - they might not have a working pupil position but might be looking for a groom and that could be a good way in, a lot of grooms have to ride so you might be able to negotiate some lessons as well.
