Working Pupil

Hey,
Does anyone know how much, on average, you would get paid as a full-time, live-in working pupil?

Depends where you work, how many lesson or lectures you get a day etc.
I used to work at a livery/riding school 6.5 days a week with a lesson and lecture 5 days a week whilst i was doing my BHS exams. After all my education, food and accomodation was taken out i got about £100 a month

Usually you aren't paid at all - You just get accommodation for you and your horse and lessons in return for working.

When I did it(best part of 10 years ago) I got £60 a week,lesson and stable management lecture a day with no rent/gas ect to pay.

Normally you would get the minimum wage, and if you have a horse the livery fees would be taken out accordingly

because you still have to have enough money to live on

Yup I didn't get paid anything when I was a WP, you worked in exchange for your tutoring and riding. We were allowed to sign on the dole at the time as there were "special circumstances" I dunno what the rules are now about signing on while you're training for something
